Trican has designed a large fleet of fracturing equipment that is fit-for-purpose for the regions in which it operates. The equipment utilizes the latest in electronics and motor and pump technology to ensure that it is reliable and effective in placing treatments as designed.

combo_frac_unit Combination Fracturing Unit

The combination unit is ideally suited for multiple stage fracturing where one fracturing crew performs several fractures in a single day. Compared to conventional fracturing setups, the combo unit provides significant savings through increased efficiency of equipment utilization and all related completion services. The unit leaves a small environmental footprint and no fluid waste.

data_van Mobile Data Acquisition & Control Centre (Data Vans)

Trican’s data vans make it possible for engineers to monitor a job as it is being pumped, in real-time. With satellite, cellular and fax communications systems, mini-frac analysis, a gel testing lab and real-time frac modelling software, all job data can be analyzed on location or transmitted either to Trican’s office or our customer’s office as the job occurs via a satellite link. The van utilizes an integrated control system that links all equipment on site.

BLENDERS
Blenders are used for mixing or blending powders, chemicals and liquids to create the required treating fluid on-the-fly.

PUMPING CAPACITY
Trican’s low profile frac pumper design was the first of its type in the world. These units utilize the most modern motors, transmissions, electronics, quintiplex and triplex pumps to ensure that reliability and job flexibility are never compromised. The units are easy to maintain, and are much more efficient than previously designed frac pumpers.

hydration_unit Hydration Units

Trican’s Hydration Units ensure gel fluid consistency in accordance with residence time, optimizing fluid performance.

  • 5 mission centrifugal pumps, 2 of which are Mission Magnum Shear pumps, supporting specially designed impellers increasing the dispersion of gel into the fluid
  • Tube type with 9 m³ (60 bbl) volume with stainless steel tubing construction, capable of 12 m³/min (75 bpm)
  • Tank style with 16 m³ (100 bbl) baffled tank utilizing 4 front-to-back circulation weirs, capable of 12 m³/min (75 bpm)
  • Tank style with 50 m³ (300 bbl) to provide an approximate 3 minute surface retention time at required rate, capable of 20 m³/min (125 bpm). Three of the 7 compartments have hydraulically driven agitators
  • pH control, chemical injection
  • The retention tank has automated or manual level control
  • Minimal tank bottoms required

FLOW LINE

Trican offers sand storage bins in two different sizes to help accommodate the variety of customer needs regarding job size and location size.
