Fracturing - New Water Breaker Technology Breaker SR: Trican has developed a new high temperature encapsulated oxidizer breaker. Breaker SR is a time/temperature release breaker that does not release until some time after the fracture treatment is completed. This maintains full viscosity of the fracture fluid for the duration of the treatment followed by a right angle break profile. Breaker DRA: Trican’s Breaker DRA is part of a dual breaker system for borate crosslinked gel. Conventional breakers “break” polymer chains but leave the crosslink bonds which results in residue being left in the proppant pack. Breaker DRA “breaks” the crosslink bonds and eliminates residue.
