Fracturing - Tight Gas Fracturing Techniques When fracturing tight gas formations, it is critical to minimize damage to the formation as much as possible. Trican has an advantage in tight gas fracturing with its Low Polymer frac system. Through the use of our low polymer loading frac fluids, the productivity of tight gas reservoirs is greatly increased due to reduced formation damage. Other techniques used by Trican for tight gas wells include reducing pump rates and/or fluid viscosity to give longer fracture half lengths. Trican also has experience pumping High Rate Slick Water treatments in ultra tight formations and uses equipment that is capable of fracturing up to pressures of 105 MPa (15,000 psi).
