Tight Gas Fracturing Techniques

When fracturing tight gas formations, it’s critical to minimize damage to the formation. Trican offers an advantage in tight gas fracturing with its low polymer frac systems. Low polymer loading frac fluids result in reduced formation damage, and the productivity of tight gas reservoirs is greatly increased. Other techniques used by Trican for tight gas wells include reducing pump rates and/or fluid viscosity to give longer fracture half lengths. Trican also has experience pumping High Rate Slick Water treatments in ultra tight formations and uses equipment that is capable of fracturing up to pressures of 103,000 kPa (15,000 psi).
