Shale Oil Cleanup Acid (SOCA) is designed for the treatment of shale or tight sandstone wells containing oil. SOCA is a blend of hydrochloric and organic acids, containing mutual solvents, iron control, scale inhibitors, clay stabilizers, anti-sludge agents and emulsion breakers, and allows for greater penetration into formation. Additives are optimized to produce a clean resolution between the oil and acid phases in both live and spent acid, and to prevent asphaltenes from precipitating (sludging) from contact with iron.
