Trican has established a Research and Development Centre in Moscow as part of a long term agreement with Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. The facility will focus on enhancing oil and gas production through the development of new technology for drilling and completion applications throughout Russia and surrounding areas.
The inauguration ceremony took place on March 16, 2012 with Michael Kelly, Senior Vice President, EAME & CIS, along with the Rector of the University, Mr. V.G. Martynov, cutting the red ribbon, and included a presentation by Jim Venditto, Trican Vice President, Technical Services.
The Russia-based R&D Centre will contribute to Trican’s overall commitment to innovation and technology. Along with Trican’s R&D Centre in Calgary, Alberta and the recently-opened centre in Houston, Texas, the Moscow R&D Centre will help Trican develop solutions to support customers in producing their wells safely and efficiently, and reduce the impact of our operations on the environment.
