Joined Trican: March 1999

Why Trican? In 1999 Trican was a small service company of less than 200 people. After having worked for one of the world’s largest oilfield service suppliers where everyone was just a number, working for Trican looked very appealing. Everyone in the company knew one another, worked hard and played hard (er).

The last 6 ½ years have been very challenging, enjoyable and rewarding. Although we’ve been extremely busy and have grown rapidly, Trican continues to ‘feel’ like a small company with everyone working together in a fun filled atmosphere.

Role: As a sales representative with Trican I design, sell, and supervise oil and gas well stimulation and remediation treatments. I work with an excellent team of salespeople along with the engineering groups of our various product lines to solve customers problems – whether they be cementing, fracturing, coiled tubing, acidizing or related solutions. The sales department is the link between our customers and our operations.

Although few jobs in the modern oil and gas industry are 9 to 5 anymore, the rewards offered at Trican make all the extra effort worthwhile. Our customers confirm this with their loyal and repeat business.

Career Path: After graduating from University, I began my career with a major international oilfield service supplier. I trained in the field for five years before joining the head office in Calgary in a sales/engineering role.

That field experience proved essential to my understanding of present day oil and gas operations and I rely heavily on that understanding everyday while providing solutions to customers needs.

I find great personal satisfaction in communicating with and helping customers overcome hurdles. Working with the people I do, in the environment we work in, makes me wish I had joined Trican sooner.
