Murray L. Cobbe
Mr. Cobbe has been a director of Trican since September 20, 1996 and Chairman since
January 1, 2012. From August 1, 2009 until December 31, 2011, he served as Executive
Chairman. Prior to that date, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Trican,
positions that he held since September 1996. Mr. Cobbe has been in the well services
business since 1974 and has overseen operations in Canada, Europe, the Middle East
and the United States. Mr. Cobbe graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of
Technology in 1970 with a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir). In addition,
Mr. Cobbe is past Director and Chairman of the Petroleum Services Association of
Canada (“PSAC”) (the national association of Canadian oilfield service, supply and
manufacturing companies). Mr. Cobbe currently serves as a director of Pason Systems
Inc. (a leading provider of instrumentation systems to land-based and offshore drilling
rigs worldwide), Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. (an exploration and production company),
and is lead director of Secure Energy Services Ltd. (a publicly traded energy services
Donald R. Luft
President and Chief Operating Officer and a Director
Mr. Luft is President and Chief Operating Officer and a director of Trican, and has been with the company since August 1996. Mr. Luft’s previous position with Trican was as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and a director of the company. Prior to that Mr. Luft was a consultant with the company during the transition from a private company to the present public company from August 1996 to December 1996. Mr. Luft was previously employed by Nowsco for approximately 23 years. He went on to work in all of its specialized service areas both locally and internationally. Management experience included at various times, Base Management, Manager of the coil tubing business line for Canada, Assistant Operations Manager for Canada, and the Corporate Manager for the global development of Nowsco's coil tubing drilling.
Dale M. Dusterhoft
Chief Executive Officer and a Director
Mr. Dusterhoft joined Trican at its inception in 1996 and is Chief Executive Officer
and a Director. Prior to becoming CEO of Trican, Mr. Dusterhoft was the Company’s
Senior Vice President of Technical Services. Before joining Trican, Mr. Dusterhoft
worked for 12 years with a major Canadian pressure pumping company where he held
management positions in Operations, Sales and Engineering. Mr. Dusterhoft graduated
from the University of Calgary in 1984 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He
serves on the Board of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and on the Industry
Advisory Board of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.
G. Allen Brooks
G. Allen Brooks is a director of Trican. Mr. Brooks is the President of G. Allen Brooks L.L.C., an energy market and financial consulting firm since January 2005. Mr. Brooks also serves as an advisor to PPHB, LP, a boutique oilfield service investment banking firm. Prior to forming G. Allen Brooks, L.L.C., Mr. Brooks was the executive director of research of CIBC World Markets from 1997 to 2005. He is a Governance Fellow and a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Kenneth M. Bagan
Mr. Bagan is a director of Trican. Mr. Bagan is an independent businessman. From April 2008 to June 2011, Mr. Bagan was the President of Enerchem International Inc. Prior to joining Enerchem in 2008, Mr. Bagan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Wellco Energy Services Trust from 2004 to 2008. In addition to being a lawyer by background, Mr. Bagan has more than 30 years’ experience in the oilfield service industry including 20 years as a senior officer of publicly traded oilfield service companies. Mr. Bagan is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors ("ICD") and has completed the ICD Director Education Program.
Kevin L. Nugent, C.A.
Mr. Nugent of Calgary has been a director of Trican since March 7, 2008. Mr. Nugent is a Chartered Accountant with more than 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Since September 2013, Mr. Nugent has been Executive Chairman of Hifi Engineering Inc., a private company involved in the research, development and operation of fiber optic based acoustical monitoring technologies primarily used to detect leaks in oil and gas wells and energy pipelines. Previously, between 2007 and 2013, Mr. Nugent was President of Livingstone Energy Management Corporation, a privately held entity created to provide capital to energy related companies. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Nugent was employed by NQL Energy Services Ltd. ("NQL"), a leading provider of downhole drilling tools, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining NQL, from 2002 to 2003 Mr. Nugent was Vice President of SCF Partners, a Houston, Texas based private equity firm specializing in North American oilfield service companies. Mr. Nugent is also currently a director of Hifi Engineering Inc., Savanna Energy Services Corp. (a publicly traded drilling and service rig provider), Secure Energy Services Inc. (a publicly traded energy services company) and the Pacific Salmon Foundation.
Alexander (Alex) J. Pourbaix
Mr. Pourbaix is a director of Trican. Mr. Pourbaix is the Executive Vice-President and President, Development of TransCanada Corporation. TransCanada Corporation develops and operates North American energy infrastructure including natural gas and oil pipelines, power generation and gas storage facilities. Mr. Pourbaix is responsible for leading and executing on all of TransCanada Corporation's growth initiatives. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Pourbaix was President, Energy & Oil Pipelines and was responsible for TransCanada Corporation's non-regulated business including the oil pipeline business as well as the company's power and unregulated gas storage business. Prior thereto, Mr. Pourbaix was President, Energy of TransCanada Corporation from July 2006 to July 2010. Mr. Pourbaix is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association.
Douglas F. Robinson
Mr. Robinson is a director of Trican. Mr. Robinson is an independent businessman. From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Robinson was the President and a director of Enerchem International Inc. (an oilfield services company). Mr. Robinson has in excess of 17 years’ experience as a director or senior officer of publicly traded oilfield service companies.
Dean E. Taylor
Mr. Taylor is a director of Trican and an independent businessman. Mr. Taylor served as a director of Tidewater Inc. ("Tidewater"), a global provider of offshore service vessels to the energy industry from 2001 to 2014. Mr. Taylor also served as the non-executive chairman of the Board of Directors of Tidewater from June 2012 to December 2013. Mr. Taylor served as the Executive Chairman of Tidewater from July 2003 to May 2012 and as President and Chief Executive Officer of Tidewater from March 2002 to May 2012. Mr. Taylor first joined Tidewater in 1978. Mr. Taylor has also served as a director for the American Bureau of Shipping since 2003. Mr. Taylor also served, from 2002 through 2011, as a director for Whitney Holding Corporation, the bank holding company for Whitney National Bank.
